About Elko County

Elko County sits in northeastern Nevada and includes West Wendover on the Utah border. Its gaming revenue answers to two mostly separate economies: cross-border traffic out of Utah, and the mining employment base around the city of Elko. That combination means it often moves independently of Las Vegas and Reno.

Other Nevada markets in 2004

All figures are gaming win at nonrestricted locations, taken from the Nevada Gaming Control Board's monthly Gaming Revenue Information reports. Win is what casinos kept after paying winning wagers, before taxes and operating costs. Restricted locations, the taverns and stores running fifteen machines or fewer, are reported separately and excluded here.
